Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and ScaleSolving LLC (“we”) for using the Shelf & Shed app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Your account

You need an email address or an Apple account to sign in. Keep access to them secure; you're responsible for what happens in your account. You must be at least 13 to use Shelf & Shed.

Households

A household is shared by everyone in it. Anyone you invite can see and change its places and items, see the other members' email addresses, and invite others. Only invite people you trust.

Your content

What you add to Shelf & Shed stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and show it only as needed to run the app for you and your household, including sending it to the services listed in our privacy policy.

Answers can be wrong

Shelf & Shed answers from what you and your household have logged, and uses AI to understand requests and read photos. Answers, counts and item lists can be wrong or out of date, so check anything that matters. Expiry dates and reminders are only reminders: they are not food safety advice. Always check food before eating it.

Fair use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break in, overload it, get around limits, or use it to store unlawful content. To keep Shelf & Shed fast and affordable, there is a daily limit on questions per account, currently 300. We may change limits as the service grows.

Changes and availability

We're improving Shelf & Shed all the time, so features may change. We aim to keep it available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we make significant changes to these terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account and security. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Disclaimers

Shelf & Shed is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or goods, arising from your use of Shelf & Shed. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Apple

If you downloaded Shelf & Shed from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app or its support, and Apple's standard end user license agreement also applies.
